Universal Credit (UC) is being fully rolled out in Hackney from 3rd October 2018. Universal Credit is a radical change in the way in which working age residents will access means tested benefits. This may bring about challenges for organisations and residents alike in understanding how the system to claim benefits has changed.

In preparation for that, Hackney Advice Forum have worked closely with DWP and Hackney CVS to prepare the voluntary and community sector for the imminent live service by arranging Universal Credit Awareness Training sessions. The idea of this training is to give a better understanding of What Universal Credit is and how it works and generally be more aware of how best you can support your clients and service users post October. (A full agenda will be sent prior to attending the sessions)
