Adult Safeguarding Champions Training the Trainers 3 days Course (Wednesday 12th, 19th and 26th June 2019) • Are you committed to supporting local people to live safe lives and be free of abuse? • Do you have the time to deliver bite sized safeguarding learning sessions to local residents and community groups out of hours?

 

There is an opportunity to take part in the City & Hackney Training the Trainers course for 3 days to become a City and Hackney Community Adult Safeguarding Champion.

 

The course dates 2019

  1. Wednesday 12 June 09:45am – 04:30pm
  2. Wednesday 19 June 09:45am – 04:30pm
  3. Wednesday 26 June 09:45am – 04:30pm
     
    Safeguarding Champions will; 
  • Have a toolkit
  • Have an understanding of : the Care Act 2014, including the terms used e.g. Safeguarding Adults at Risk and the Mental Capacity Act 2005
  • Know how to make referral to the relevant team plus more (link to below).

 

Key modules;

  • The 6 principles of the Care Act 2014
  • Types of abuse
  • Understanding the signs of adult abuse
  • Thresholds for referrals
  • How to be user led - Making Safeguarding Personal
  • Knowledge of how to protect residents and service users

 

After the training Safeguarding Champions will work in pairs to deliver a minimum of 5 adult safeguarding awareness sessions per year and attend our Adult Safeguarding Champions Education network.
