The aim of this course is to equip learners with the basic knowledge necessary to take on health and safety responsibilities and play a part in making workplaces safer.

 

This half day Health and Safety Level 1 training will provide participants with essential foundation knowledge and understanding required to reduce risk and ensure a healthy and safe working environment.

The session will cover:

•The Health & Safety at Work Act
•The Management of Health & Safety at Work Regulations
•COSHH - Control of Substances Hazardous to Health
•Manual Handling Regulations
•How to carry out a Risk Assessment

Learning Outcomes:

By the end of the session participants will be able to:
•Describe the main health and safety legislation
•Carry out a risk assessment
•Identify key responsibilities for making workplaces healthy and safe
•Apply their improved knowledge of the right to work safely in their job
•Take on health and safety responsibilities for a community group

 
Who should attend this training?

This introductory course is for people with health and safety responsibilities in community and voluntary sector organisations, who want to learn about the rights to working in a safe and healthy environment and how to enforce these rights.
