Safeguarding is the responsibility of us all. This training will allow delegates to explore why some adults become at risk of abuse and what human rights they have. You will also be able to consider what role you can play in preventing people being abused at work and as members of their local communities.

Learning Outcomes:

By the end of the session the participants will:

  • Understand dignity and respect when working with individuals and their importance in preventing abuse
  • To understand the approach underpinning Making Safeguarding Personal and how that impacts on expectations of participants practice
  • Be aware of the 6 principles of Safeguarding from The Care Act 2014 and other changes that are relevant to their role
  • Be aware of their own values and ethics and how these can impact on their involvement with adults at risk of abuse
  • Understand what Safeguarding is and what their roles are in the process
