Parents Coping with Covid-19 Respite, Recovery and Return to study in September 2020

Registration is closed for this event
Join Cllr Etti and Kristine in a Parents Open Space Seminar which brings together faith leaders and VCS family support organisations in Stoke Newington to discuss how to support parents post lockdown.

What are parents key concerns?

What practical support is needed?

Are the current online portals useful and accessible?

Frontline workers in charities and local settings have been a lifeline of support to families in need of support to adjust and adapt in response to COVID-19.

We are now at a time of reflection and want to ensure more policy makers and Cllr’s  understand how some groups slip through the policy net.

This period has highlighted critical changes needed to address hidden needs.

Lockdown has led to a realisation that children and adult mental health strategies need to address the big blind spot made visible by the pandemic.

Hackney has a priority to improve mental health outcomes in two areas adults and children.

Parents have had to be resourceful, resilient and balance multiple roles during this pandemic.

There is hardly any time for much needed respite. Parents need to recover, review and be ready for the new academic year or a second wave.

What can we learn from the lockdown period?

How have we embed parents wellness within current mental health strategies?

The aim of this Open Space Session is to give Post Lockdown Supporters the opportunity to discuss and send key messages to policy makers and your local councillors.

Join the conversation and have your say with Cllr Etti and Kristine Wellington.
