LGBTQIA+ SIG Meeting- Wednesday 28th June 2023 at 3pm-4.30pm Online Via MS Teams

LGBTQIA+ meeting exists to offer a forum in the London Borough of Hackney, and City of London, for anyone who has an interest in the LGBTQIA+ provision.

 

The SIG is: 
- to discuss local issues faced when supporting the community, share insights with relevant parts of the health and social care system. 
- to share information and updates about current services available.  
- to create networking and collaboration opportunities in the VCS.  
- to create opportunities for statutory and VCS partners to build relationships. 

Agenda items:

- Welcomes, introductions, and update from members present in the meeting (All)

- Topic of next meeting (All)

- Update on the Action Plan of the LGBTQIA+ Strategy- Emmeline Bathurst, Strategic Delivery Officer at Hackney Council     

- Special meeting with the Met Police on police strategy regarding hate crime.  

The purpose of this discussion at our LGBTQIA+ meeting will be to know: 

- What is the operational learning from those offences in the sense of how the police responded and how could they respond better to those situations to make sure there is a learning process, prevention. 

- Prevention- once we know what is happening and the responses were, how can we act to prevent it happening again. 

- What is the plan for community engagement for the next 3 months?
