Well Street Common Neighbourhood Partnership Meeting

The Well Street Common Neighbourhood Partnership is the coming together of voluntary and community groups, residents and frontline statutory staff working in the Well Street Common Neighbourhood. Building on the findings of the Open Space event in April, this will be the first of six partnership meetings.

If you access or provide any of Health or community services or activities in the Well Street Common Neighbourhood, please come along. Your voice really matters.

On 19 September we’ll be covering

• Sustainability / Fundraising
• Sharing expertise
• Sharing results of mapping of services and activities in the Well Street Common Neighbourhood to date

Why is it happening?

The local NHS and Hackney Council are changing the way they are working in response to the government’s integrated care agenda.  Increasingly the large organisations are recognising that services need to be delivered locally, and that local organisations and residents know best what is needed in their area.

What are the opportunities for the Voluntary and Community Sector, residents and frontline statutory staff?

•             To work more closely with GPs, social workers, community nurses and other professionals to provide better care and support for residents of all ages

•             To influence the way the NHS and Council provide services in the local area

•             To work together to identify gaps in services locally and jointly fundraise to meet these needs

•             To get to know other groups and agencies working locally so that we can all work together better

We will continue to work together to decide priorities for our Neighbourhood. From the findings of the Open Space event our first activity has been to start to develop a ‘map’ of the local services and activities in the Neighbourhood. This is to help us all to find out about and access a broad range of services, groups and activities in our local community.

We will also work to strengthen voluntary and community sector organisations who offer activities and groups so that the Neighbourhood can continue to involve and support residents.
