This half day training aims to increase the skills and knowledge needed to write a funding proposal and set a budget. During the session you will learn how to build an overall plan for a bid proposal, including: - How to analyse your organisation and demonstrate need - How to financially plan and set a budget including Full cost recovery - How to apply Financial Monitoring and Management

The course will cover the following:

  • Scene-setting: building an overall plan for the bid
  • Business analysis and demonstrating need
  • Defining overall story and strategy
  • Developing a bid 
  • Financial Planning/ Setting a budget
  • Full Cost Recovery model
  • Allocation and Apportionment
  • Unit Costing
  • Cashflow Forecast
  • Financial Monitoring and Management

Learning Outcomes: 

By the end of the session delegates will be able to:

  • Understand the bid writing process and the critical parts of bid documents
     
  • Have greater knowledge of what information should be included in a proposal:                             
    (a) Information about your organisation/group                                                                           
    (b) Service description                                                                                                             
    (c) Demonstrating needs and priorities
     
  • Understand the principles of setting a budget/financial planning:                                                 
    (a) Allocation and apportionment                                                                                              
    (b) Unit costing
