Shape the local Domestic Abuse Intervention Service (DIAS) priorities. There is a need to ensure our diverse community in Hackney have fair access to support and the range of cultural needs are understood by policy makers. It is equally important that VCS organisations have up to date information about how key agencies actively support survivors, staff know their duties and echo key messages about respectful relationships.
As part of the new three year strategy the DIAS team want to invest in more community based solutions to address the underlying causes of violence.
VCS representatives are invited to attend the first Community Panel Meeting on Thursday 12 September 2019 which will comprise of a diversity of frontline VCS organisations that support; school aged girls, young women and working age women and 50+ to “speak up” about service users need.
