Terms and Conditions

Hackney CVS provides high quality bespoke training for the voluntary and community sector. Our main focus is to provide training courses to assist voluntary and community groups in Hackney to develop sustainable, well-run, and resilient organisations. Hackney CVS aims to provide practical and useful training courses and wants all participants to benefit fully from the time they give to training.

The cost of training depends on the size and type of organisation as well as the duration of the training session. The cost of training is subsidised to organisations operating in Hackney, who can apply to our free associate membership to benefit from the subsidised rates.

Categories:

  • A - Voluntary, Community & Social Enterprise Sector organisations operating in Hackney
  • B - Voluntary, Community & Social Enterprise Sector organisations (not operating in Hackney).
  • C - Private and Public sector organisations

The actual cost for any training session is given on the registration form. Training club memberships are available if you prefer to pay for training sessions in advance.

Booking

  • Please provide the name of individual, organisation, email and phone number of the person who will be attending the course (the attendee). This is required in the event that training is cancelled or postponed at short notice, due to unforeseen circumstances.
  • Organisations may book more than one person on any course but, in the event that a course is oversubscribed, you may be asked to send only one of your booked participants, so that more organisations can benefit.
  • Full payment must be made online and your booking will be confirmed once payment has been received.
  • If you realise that you cannot attend the course after you have booked, let HCVS know immediately. You may lose your payment if you do not inform us 5 working days before the course date.

Training Club membership scheme

  • The annual pass is open to any member of your staff or volunteers but please note a cap of 3 members of staff on any single training session.
  • All annual passes include at least 12 training sessions per year, which can be used by any of your staff or volunteers.
  • Any unused training sessions from the annual quota can be carried forward to the following year.
  •  If you're unsatisfied with the quality of our training, please get in touch with us on training@hcvs.org.uk.
  • If you decide to opt out of the membership scheme, we will offer a refund for any of the unused annual quota.

Time keeping

  • Please arrive at your training session on time. It is disruptive for the trainer and other participants when people arrive late. (See Special Arrangements below).
  • If you are unavoidably delayed, contact our training coordinator on training@hcvs.org.uk. If you arrive more than 15 minutes after the course start time without letting us know, you may be refused entry, and you may lose your payment.
  • If you know, when booking, that you may arrive late, or want to leave the training early, please let us know, with times, under Special Arrangements. The trainer will be informed, and decide whether this can be accommodated.

Special Arrangements: Hackney CVS will make every effort to accommodate people with special needs but this may not always be possible at short notice. Please let us know - training@hcvs.org.uk - if you have special needs, so we can ensure you receive the training you would like.

Cancellations

We appreciate that occasions arise which necessitate attendees to cancel their booking due to unforeseen circumstances and we therefore try to be flexible in our approach to each individual case. Obviously though in some cases this has an effect on our costs and resources, i.e. rooms, Tutors, catering and we must try to ensure that all parties are not disadvantaged through loss of earnings etc. Any such issues are resolved at the discretion o the training team.

Photographs and Recordings

Hackney CVS may record online meetings or take photographs of people attending our events for publicity, archive, and monitoring purposes. Photos may be used to illustrate our newsletter, annual reports, reports to funders, or other HCVS publications; on our website; or in HCVS displays at other events. They will not be distributed for any other organisation’s use. If, at any HCVS meeting or event, you would prefer not to have your photo taken for use (as outlined above) please make yourself known to the facilitator of the meeting, the photographer, or other HCVS member of staff.
